This is the time of year when a lot is going on - and rather than running a hectic Black Friday promotion we're going to do something different!

It's the 4th birthday since Piano Picnic became my brainchild and I want to make it a fun celebration for November (which is also my birthday month!)

So this is what I'm thinking - throughout November I will be promoting an event which will take place online (likely on YouTube or Facebook - vote in the comments below!) it will be THE.MOST.FUN that pianists have ever had together online!

vkisamore Val, using the Random Chord Generator to re-do the chord riffs was Ruth's idea. I'm going to work on that today. I like your idea about chatting about our progress. I think that will help us feel like we're not out here on our own as we try to do this. Especially if we're having trouble with something & feeling lost. I'm looking forward to the bass riffs because I feel like I'm in a rut doing the same old stuff over & over. I definitely need more interesting bass line rhythms & patterns.

LOL,thanks for the vote of confidence in my skills! I'm definitely a work in progress. Learning & pushing the envelope. We all have struggle areas & confidence areas, so I think this forum is good. We can learn off each other. Even if it's a "glad I'm not the only one" moment, to keep us going through the frustrating times!

RuthPower Mixing bass riffs & chord riffs! I hadn't even thought of that concept in that way, but I guess that IS what we do & strive for. Seeing it written like that though is 😵😱

Wow, finally something to look forward to. I'm so excited for Piano Picnic's 4th birthday! 🎂

Although YouTube is fine, I think Facebook will make it easier to share the event with others, and it's also the platform a lot of people are already used to (because of the weekly broadcasts).

Also, if the weekend doesn't permit, I'd personally prefer if the online event will be on a Friday -- that's when I (nearly) have no online classes. But unless something urgent is coming up, I'll definitely attend the event anytime (as long as it's not midnight or as early as 3AM in my country).

P.S. I'll muse about my birthday message for a bit, but I'll send it soon.

Happy 4th Birthday Piano Picnic!! Since in person parties are a no-no this year, I'm more than excited about an online party!! 🎈🎉🎂 Something fun to look forward to!! Yay!!

How about having a cake with black & white keys on it, some noisemakers & maybe a party hat! Is there a way to get a virtual disco ball & strobe lights?

I'm on the east coast in EST now, so late afternoons or evenings work for me. I'm a night person, so time doesn't bother me unless it's 2am or later my time. As for day, I'm a day earlier than NZ, & I have commitments Thurs & Fri 6-8pm EST, which would be Fri & Sat in NZ, but not sure of time of day for you.

alexx88 ahhhhh I love the message!!!! 🧡 Oh my gosh, good idea about the cake & lights! I'll see what I can find! I reckon I could get some cool background going on that looks like a party! Maybe a picnic basket & blanket? 😏
On other note, I found the PERFECT party dress the other day... so I'm prepared on that front - arguably most important aspect for me!
Copy that on the times, I'll try to fit in with y'all!
