Hey all, this is where we can put any comments/thoughts/questions about the latest course!
REMINDER: Super important that you all submit to me over the next week - preferably over the wknd (before Monday) so that I have enough time to look through all your songs. 🎼
Currently I have ONE submission!!! So please get them in - whatever you have of your song so far. ... even if it's just lyrics, or just chords, put it on a piece of paper, try to record something to show me how it goes even if you don't want me to play the recording...
I can't do a Songwriting Camp without songs!!!! 😅

RuthPower Gosh, just saw this. I should check in more 🤓 I thought the deadline was Monday. I uploaded to the google drive and also sent the email yesterday either very late Sunday or wee hours Monday depending how you look at it. I hope the submission still made your cutoff.

Still a newbie with creative piano and thoroughly enjoying the journey learning to play the piano, and most importantly how to be creative. Blown away by this new Keys to Songwriting course and have just jumped in 'both feet' no parachute, what the heck, 'I'm Just Doing It'. OM gosh, having so much fun 😃 🤣

I'm enjoying it, but trying to do the structure exercises and wish there was a cheat sheet or key to check my work.

I'm planning to submit later this week in case I get new inspiration from the course 🙂

Tricia Thanks, i think it's Ruth's enthusiasm for creative piano that i tap into, i'm just enjoying the way she presents/teaches.. Glad you're enjoying the course too 😃 👍

auddess Sorry to you both! I don't want you to miss out! I had to close submissions early as I had gotten so many!!! Please do send it to me and I'll see how many I can squeeze in - I can always give you feedback outside of the livestream if I don't get time. RuthPower I'm just seeing all theses song threads. I wasn't getting notifications about posts here like I usually do. Not sure why. Need to poke around to see why.

Anyway. I also submitted mine on Monday, but it was already closed. I sent what I have so far in an email, in hopes that maybe there would be a part II of the upcoming livestream. 🤞

Hi everyone! So I was on the How To Be Original Livestream on YouTube. How were you all commenting? I was signed in, but couldn't comment. Do you all have YouTube Channels?

I liked that the livestream didn't drop out like on FB, but I have to say that logging into FB & commenting there is a lot easier than on YouTube.

alexx88 do you think it’s because it was a new thread? I notice I don’t get notifications unless I’ve already posted in the thread (which then switches automatically to Following) or manually selected something to follow. Is there an option to be notified of new topics?

Hi folks, just wanna give a big 'shout out' to Ruth for creating an amazing course that has got us all inspired. The Camp/Workshop today was awesome just seeing/listening to everyones songwriting creations. Very inspiring 🙂👍

MikeClarke I totally agree Mike! Listening to what every had done was amazing & inspiring! Every submission was awesome in every way! I really enjoyed the course too. I knew nothing about songwriting before this. I had never even attempted to write words & music. Ever. The course was super easy to understand & the way it broke down the process to easily get us on our way to a song is fabulous. Go small bites!! Thank you so much for this course & the Live Camp Ruth!!

Yes MikeClarke alexx88 cheers to Ruth our amazing, energetic educator!! 🎉 I was on the fence for a while about doing this course at this time since I had just started learning piano on here a few months ago with SBE. I was thinking to wait til I could play better. It’s the last reason in “Should I write my own songs… or not” video 😆 The challenge has been worthwhile.

I’m also glad to have done this with you all. Learning is more fun with good company. I appreciate that this community feels like a safe, supportive space. It’s really encouraging. Plus so many awesome talents to look up to!
