Tricia
Hi Trica, your post brought a smile to me, that's exactly what I've been doing 'write out the note letters to figure out the notes' I've been doing that for one of the exercise/challenges :-) good to hear someone else is doing that :-).
Your (Ruth's) reminder of having fun along the way resonated with me too.
I was in another music program last year with daily/weekly lessons and after a little while I found I couldn't put the time in to do all exercises they suggested to compliment the lesson.
So, I just relaxed, kept moving forward, doing the best I could with each lesson, and even if I didn't 'Get It', kept moving forward keeping up with the weekly modules/programs.
The lesson for me was; by just doing that, allowing my 'ole brain box' to soak up the info (even if I didn't get it), doing a little each day and moving forward. I Was Amazed at how much I had picked up, and things that I didn't quite get in the beginning would become clearer in one of the next modules.
And the main thing was, I got back to having fun and enjoying my music journey even if I didn't quite get everything. Unlike School/Uni days where it always seemed like pressure.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your journey, it was a good reminder for me to keep having fun on this musical journey.
Have a great weekend, regards Mike :-)
