@Joseph recently suggested listening to this song - "Release" from Grace Potter. I really like it.
I've been checking out a few new releases including this piano/folk track from kiwi artist Aldous Harding 'Old Peel'. reminds me of early Fiona Apple.
I also love this track 'Wind Parade' by Jordan Rakei - jazzy/soul good vibes for the work week!

I’m just finishing off John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy,” so I spent a lot of time listening to that. I never heard it before, & I heard it on the radio. Great piano parts.

Now I’m listening to old Goo Goo Dolls & Matchbox Twenty to see if there’s something I want to try next from either of them. Definitely want to tackle a cool non elevator version of Hotel California next too.

Duh! I just started working on this, so I’m listening to this. Have the intro so far. Never really paid attention to the Rod Stewart version, but someone sent me this backstory video, & I fell in love with the composers piano version. It comes in around 8:16

Yes! OH I do know Jealous Guy - yeh beautiful piano part - that sounds like a great one for you to work out by ear!
Love 'Handbags & Gladrags', what a cool history! I mostly know it from the theme of British 'The Office' TV program.

Just saw this post, nothing to special at the moment, been a bit 'Slack' on my piano journey of late, but it's all good, keeping on track and I'm happy and having fun.

One Song that comes to mind is Paul Kelly's (Aussie icon) song 'To Her Door' which I've recently been looking at on my acoustic guitar.

I notice that it has a really cool Piano Part which really makes the song!

I might put that on my list to have a go at in the future..

MikeClarke definitely put it on the list! Good to have a running list of things you'd like to mess around with next time you're 'playing by ear' at the piano. Make sure you listen a few times in research mode before you try at the piano!
Regarding being 'slack', these things always go in cycles don't they - we can't be UP & ON all the time or then it wouldn't be UP or ON! 🙂
