@"RuthPower" Hi! So I returned the Scarlett 4i4 for a Scrlett 8i6. It has it's own power adapter & works with the iPad/iPhone or a computer. After playing with GarageBand a bit & watching a zillion more videos, I finally figured out how to do it. It's hard when the videos aren't exactly your setup, & all the videos I was watching had 1 midi cable. Well you need 2. Duh. So I bough another cable & voila!
So now I have a few things going on. 1.) The score to print sounds correct, but doesn't look like what I hear. If I change the note values things get a little better. 2.) I recorded again with no pedaling. Again sounds exactlylike what I was playing. Looks close, but not exact. Maybe because I'm playing multiple notes and/or holding notes? Maybe I need to change note values? But still, Need to do more tweaking to figure this out. 3.) The 4i4 would've worked if I had 2 midi cables, so now do I return the 8i6 to get the 4i4 back again & save $50, or just keep to as it has a power adapter & more outputs & inputs?
Anyway, I need to get back to playing this song I wrote, get a good recorded version with all this equipment I have, really learn well a 2nd song I wrote & get a midi for that as well as good audio recordings, & then I can share with you all. 🙂
